Its been a while........ But trust me its for a good reason! 😜

Hello and Hello to you, 

Now where do I start? Best to start with the obvious ...."which is Arn?"

Okay Okay.... I have not utilised the written word on my blog for a good while now, "so Arn Terry what is the reason, what's your excuse leaving people hanging....?😐"  

Bit harsh but no excuse, you see I have been invited to over 40 guest appearances on Podcast around the world the past couple of months, yes that's right Oz, Nz, UK, US, Africa and I have loved every minute meeting new people and having fun along the way! 

I have also been creating more content on the following platforms

So needles to say I have been extremely busy but still having fun along the way!

If anyone reading this thinks WOW! that's a bit much, it really isn't, please, please let me explain. You see you have probably heard the word algorithm thrown about a great deal, keeping it very simple, a social media platforms algorithm basically controls how many people see your content, that's it, think of it like your post is a slow dripping tap and the more people who engage (like, share, comment) the tap slowly starts to trickle the trickle is the algorithm reaching more people on the platform because its all controlled.  If no engagement the drip does not even go to a trickle, it just stops. 

Now its even harder to get your content out unless you pay for ads, because the social media platforms want more control and more profits, even LinkedIn! Yes LinkedIn is at it, this was a great platform for thousands of peeps to see your one post! You see, all these platforms can't have to many people become an over night hit and then take people off that platform so this ties up nicely to why I have shown up on multiple podcast and platforms to spread my reach because unfortunately its rigged against us unless we cross pollinate and utilise multiple platforms.

This Blog is for the peeps who are new to their social media journey, I am going to throw in some little Easter Eggs to help you on your way.. WHY, because I am nice like that😜

Before I start giving away some Easter Eggs for your social media posting on multiple platforms I would just like to say, please, please, please do not focus on likes, comments, shares etc. The reason I say this is too many people put their energy in or on self-gratification, rather then just having fun along the way, make sense? You see if your focus is on just likes then you may loose yourself and start to copy others in style and structure to be like them thinking that way you will get more likes, the truth is nobody knows who you are so it will take time to build the trust and interest of people to start to engage with you. Being yourself is the best way possible, then you will attract the right people for your product/service or personal brand.... 

Now over to the fun stuff....its so easy you may just laugh out loud!!!!

Posting on your YouTube Channel 

Once your video has gone public....

1. Watch the video from start to finish, sounds simple and it is, watch your video to gain that first view 

2. Hit the share button and share to LinkedIn, Facebook, Blogger, Twitter etc for more views

3. Put a comment on your post, a question comment to get people to engage...? 

4. PIN that comment so it never moves, this will ensure any new visitors do not miss your comment

Posting on Twitter

Once you have tweeted....

1. Like your Tweet 

2. Retweet 

3. If you have another twitter account i.e one personal, one business get that other account to like and retweet

Posting on Facebook/Instagram and Linked 

Once posted on LI or FB

1. like your post

2. Comment with a question to get engagement

3. Share your post to groups (does not apply to IG) you are a member of, obviously relevant groups. 

4. Tag People into your post (again relevant peeps)

Now you may asking yourself what is the point of liking and commenting on my own post? People will think I am silly for liking my own post...!

Just to answer in order...

It just gives a bit of fuel to the fire for the algorithm to acknowledge a like, comment and watch, also if people see some sort of engagement they will be more likely to hit the button too. 

Now to answer your second question.... "its none of your business what other people think of you" To put it blunt "FCUK UM" you are doing this for you and people that want to see your content and this will give the helping hand to ensure you reach your audience 😁

Slow is Smooth, Smooth is Fast! Lets see it

I recently posted an Instagram Story with the message "Slow is smooth, smooth is fast! Let's see it" This is a quote from the 2007 film #shooter staring #markwahlberg, that saying stuck with me and is on of my go to mantras, what is yours? Do you have one?

To me it means do don't rush or force yourself to hit the target because you will miss, take a deep breath and focus so you are in the moment, the present, now Let's See It... I also mentioned on my Instagram post that I would probably write a blog about it so here I am 😀

If you are following the social media giants they all have many different strategies do this... no do that and another says you show try it this way etc.. etc... The one common theme that they all seem to agree on is you need to be prepared to take your time and let the process take effect as long as you are taking action! It is frustrating because you want the success or just your story to be heard on a large scale NOW NOW NOW! However like my Mantra "Slow is Smooth, Smooth is fast you just need to be very patient and trust the process. 

Like any skill/job/hobby it takes time to build your craft and if you rush, i..e building a house and rushing the foundations or using cheaper materials to speed up a process then the house will collapse when you least expect it! That being said I do believe you can get shortcuts like getting a mentor/coach for them to teach you lessons learnt and mistakes that they have made along their path to success, that way you know right from wrong without making the mistakes to give you a shot of nitro to get ahead of the pack.

I love to meet people and do business, however... seen as social distancing is not going away, being on a Podcast is the next best thing to be social, spread your message and have fun along the way. I can tell my story to millions of people from the comfort of my home but still have face to face interaction via Zoom, Skype, HangOuts etc...... with the host.

I feel relaxed and at ease when on a Podcast and simply love every second of it, because I am promoting my online course on How To Dominate Social Media, being a guest on the Podcast is a great move...  just think about when that famous singer is about to drop an album or single they are all over the radio stations or the actor with a new film, they are on all the top talk shows... I often talk about modelling what the successful people and businesses do so this is no different.

Today I want to talk about impostor syndrome!!!!

STAY WITH ME HERE..... I have coached 100's of people on this subject when I worked as an International Head Hunter for 15 years... You see people who I placed in their first careers started at the bottom on say £250 per day and I worked with them over the years when their experience grew where I negotiated their day rates to over £800 and many £1200 per day they would feel like an impostor and doubt themselves and almost feel like a fraud, this was because they needed reminding all the late hours and early morning starts on training, the weekends they missed with friends and families due to more training, studying and hitting deadlines, the lessons learnt on projects and setbacks and the £1000's they spent on training to be an expert in their field.. its only then when you look back and walk through your journey you truly understand that you are on £1000 per day not by luck but by focus, taking action, investing in yourself (time and money) 

I had to reminded myself on this subject due to my shift from just being a Head Hunter to becoming a Social Media Professional 

Now that I have my coaching course to Dominate Social Media it has allowed me to walk back through my journey to remind myself that its not luck that got me here.............

The other day I was doing the gardening and got frustrated because once again the "Weeds" had grown through the grass, around the block paving and also around my plants and decking area!

ARRHHHHHH! WEEDS AGAIN!!



What I did to get rid of the Weeds the previous week!

• Weed Killer
• Pulling the weeds from the root 
• Mowing over them and strimming them off  
• Kicking them etc... etc..... biting them OFF..... OKaY not biting them but was thinking about it!

But within a week or so they just popped back up... like huh... THAT ALL YOU GOT... B!TCH!! 

Then it hit me..........As you may know, I focus on positive mindset to deal with negativity, setback and just SH!T HAPPENS situations... within my social media journey 

So I thought ARN TERRY --- BECOME A WEED.... no matter what you do to a weed, it is so focused to grow and succeed that no one or nothing can stop it... weeds have a desire and focus just to keep going no matter what.... 

So now! My mindset is.... become a weed, anyone who has taken the step to dream big, set up a social media business to grow it into a paying business will fail and loose every other day... you have to get used to being a loser and failure to succeed because if you can't deal with all the setbacks and PAIN... you just give up and go back to a regular job.. 

When I was in school, being called a weed was a negative and bad thing... if you was called a weed it meant you was weak... small...scared...afraid....the complete opposite of strong... now tell me really do you think a weed is weak?  Look over the steps I took to get rid of them...

You can step on a flower and it can be dead within days and you have to wait a year for it to grow back...............now again tell me do you think a WEED is weak...
